Here are the funniest tweets about the bonkers British election results

Exit polls! Russell Brand! Paddy Ashdown’s hat!

Britain Election Alastair Grant Alastair Grant

RESULTS FROM THE British general election are still coming in, but it’s becoming increasingly clear that David Cameron will likely remain as Prime Minister.

Last night, as polls closed, the election dominated Twitter and, boy, was it a rollercoaster.

Firstly, the results of the exit poll terrified everybody

Even Piers Morgan was baffled

Some people had theories about those quizzed in the exit poll

While others conducted their own exit polls…

As Labour’s weak performance became more and more apparent, Ed Miliband became the topic of discussion

Labour supporters laid the blame at one man

Although the Milifandom was still firmly #TeamEd

But somewhere, David Miliband was chuckling to himself

Meanwhile, many people accused David Cameron of blatantly ripping Obama off with this tweet

In fact, the Conservative Party was compared to U2

Meanwhile, Twitter basically broke when Paddy Ashdown announced he’d eat his hat if the exit polls turned out to be correct

George Galloway’s hat looked fairly delicious, to be fair

And, of course, someone created the inevitable Twitter account…

The account now has 11,000 followers

*sigh*
